Why Should I learn English?
English is Australia's national language. If you have
recently arrived in Australia as a migrant or refugee from a non-English
speaking background, you will find that learning English is one
of the first and most important steps you can take towards successful
settlement. If you do not have the functional English you may be
entitled to learn English through the Adult Migrant English Program
at Macquarie Community College Blacktown.
What
is the AMEP >
The AMEP is a program that provides basic English as a second
language tuition to help migrants and refugees from non-English
speaking backgrounds settle successfully in Australia. more >
Am I Eligible
>
The AMEP is available to adult migrants, aged 18 years old or
over, for whom English is not the first language, and

who
have been assessed as not having functional English language skills. Apart
from these requirements, the following categories of people are

What Does it Cost?
AMEP tuition is provided free of charge to most clients.
Macquarie Community College also provides free childcare through
its partner KU Children's Services.

The AMEP is designed to teach a lot more than just English
language skills. You will learn about Australian society, culture,
and customs as well as computer skills by using the English
