Childcare
Macquarie Community College Blacktown provides students enrolled
in the AMEP with free childcare through KU Children's Services while
studying.
The childcare program we offer aims to achieve
the following goals.
- Provide educational and culturaly relevant programs for all children in our care
- Provide a variety of bilingual staff
- Ensure the wellbeing and health of the children in our care
- Encourage parent participation on any level
- Encourage the use of the child's first language as well as English
- Develop each Child's awareness of, and pride in, his or her own language and culture
- Support diverse cultural groups within our community
- Support and provide ongoing training for childcare staff
- Maintain a positive relationship between English language learning and childcare
Childcare assistance is available to AMEP students
only. For 6 week - 2½ year olds, you may be offered childcare in
one of the mainstream centres, close to your home. For 2½ - 5 year
olds, we are able to provide on-site childcare assistance in our
AMEP childcare centre downstairs.
|
Please keep in mind that if you have a child in
our on-site childcare centre on the ground floor at 125 Main Street,
Blacktown, you will not be permitted to leave the building without
taking your child with you. This is a strict government legislation
that you must comply with.
This is a free service while studying
for students who are enrolled in the AMEP. To arrange childcare
while you study English, just ask your teacher or the administration
staff at Macquarie Community College Blacktown.
The AMEP childcare service is provided by KU Children's
Services.
