Counselling
Having a problem you can't talk about can make you feel very
upset and alone. Speaking to an experienced counsellor can make
a big difference.
Macquarie Community College Blacktown provides
a free counselling service through Mission Australia to help students
enrolled in the AMEP.
Counselling is when you discuss the problems in
your life with a trained professional. You can talk confidentially
about difficulties with a trained person who will listen and care,
get clear in your own mind what your problems really are, work out
what you can do about your problem, and get information on who can
help.
Counselling is for people of all ages, from all countries, and with
many kinds of problems. Counsellors can help you with problems like
the following.
- Immigration and settlement difficulties
- English classes and learning
- Recognition of overseas qualifications
- Training and education queries
- Employment matters
- Emotional stress and worries about the future
- Marriage and relationships
- interpersonal conflicts
- Alcohol and other drugs
- Gambling worries
|
- Grief and loss
- Financial or legal worries
Counsellors are people you can trust. No matter
what your problem is, you will be listened to and your moral, religious,
and cultural views will be respected. The counselling service is
confidential. The information you tell the counsellor will remain
private.
This is a free service. To make an appointment
for counselling, just ask your teacher or the administration staff
at Macquarie Community College Blacktown.
The AMEP counselling service is provided by
Mission Australia Counselling Services.
