Established in 1988, Macquarie Community College is an amalgamation of the Carlingford, Eastwood, North Ryde and Chatswood Evening Colleges, which had provided adult education to their communities since the 1930s.

The College now provides adult education at over 80 venues throughout North and North-western Sydney. The College continues to expand operations to meet the adult education needs of the community.

In 2007 Macquarie Business Training Centre (MBTC), Chatswood was officially opened. In 2008 a full-scale rebranding roll-out will occur launching the MBTC brand as the standalone individual and business-training arm of Macquarie Community College. 

ISO Accreditation
Macquarie Community College is formally accredited with the ISO 9001 certification for our management systems. As part of the accreditation we are the first training institution in Australia to receive the AQTF Training Organisation certification - an achievement we are very proud of.

This certification means that the College's systems in quality management, management responsibilities, resource management, product and service realisation, measurement, analysis and improvement all meet international standards. Our ISO certification is proof of our commitment to ongoing improvement with the aim to provide you with access to adult education that is productive, affordable and enjoyable. We will continue to manage and monitor our systems to serve you better.

Courses
Whether you're looking to upgrade your skills, return to the workforce, get fit or follow personal interests, Macquarie Community College and Macquarie Business Training Centre (MBTC) offers a broad range of professionally tutored courses in small classes and comfortable environments.

Accredited Training
The VET program offers a range of nationally-recognised accredited certificate and diploma courses in frontline management, marketing, office administration, training & assessment, human resources and small business management.

As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Macquarie Community College offers competency-based, nationally accredited courses through its business training division MBTC, on a full and part time basis. Our courses are accredited by the Vocational Education, Training and Accreditation Board (VETAB), providing participants with a nationally recognised qualification. Accredited programs and individual modules from Certificate III to Diploma level are currently offered at Carlingford, Chatswood and Ryde.

Computer Training
The computing program covers an extensive range of current software packages and general computer awareness. These courses are delivered in small classes, using up-to-date computer facilities.

Leisure Program
Learn to dance, get fit, explore your creativity and develop your social skills with more than 650 leisure courses offered through the general interest program. Courses provide students with a chance to make friends while learning new skills in a relaxed environment. Courses offered throughout the year include face painting, scrapbooking, jewellery, photography, salsa, bellydancing, wedding dances, African Latin drumming, Thai cookery, gardening, wine appreciation, languages, massage, martial arts and much much more.

English and Literacy
The English and literacy programs provide beginners, intermediate and advanced students with confidence and improved skills. The broad range of courses includes specialised training in Accent Reduction, Aussie Business Communication and English in the Workplace. Day and evening classes are available, as are private tutoring sessions.

Special Needs
With classes designed to provide quality learning for people with an intellectual disability, the special needs program offers courses in a wide range of skills and interests.

Online Learning
Studying has never been so flexible with Macquarie Business Training Centre’s Online Learning. Study when and where it suits you from any computer in the world. Each course results in a Nationally Accredited Certificate or Statement of Attainment, which is recognised by employers, and other Registered Training Organisations across Australia. Choose from the online selection of accredited certificate and diploma courses, short courses and individual modules.
