Bushwalk 1 – The Badangi Circuit- Sunday 16th February, 2020 – Sydney Course

Escape to the great outdoors with our resident bushwalking guide, Greg Williams, who has been leading bushwalks around Sydney for over 33 years. You can book each bushwalk individually or book the 'Bushwalking – Sunday Adventure Bushwalks Package' which includes all four bushwalks at a discounted price.

Bushwalk 1 – The Badangi Circuit: In the heart of the Northshore, but tucked away from suburbia are some of the finest walking tracks that you can come across in Sydney. Here you will walk through tall forested valleys that are home to Blackbutt Gully Forest and as you approach the bay the valley opens to Angophora Foreshore Forest, while around the creek-line you will have a forest dominated by a closed canopy of Lillypilly and Coachwoods. Those with keen eyes may be surprised at what they find. Black-faced Cuckoo-Shrikes, Kingfishers, Robins, Wrens, Treecreepers, Wattlebirds, Whistlers, Pardalotes, Thornbills, Parrots and Rosellas have all been sighted along this track, with walkers reported the hearing of the Eastern Whipbird and a Powerful Owl. This walk has incredible views for you to mesmerise over as it opens to the harbour and along its foreshore. The original occupiers of this area were the Cammeraygal People, an Aboriginal Clan who were hunters and gatherers. Along this track, remnants of their existence can still be found today through middens, rock art and sandstone shelters. The name of this walk comes from the Aboriginal word meaning Sydney rock oyster.

All bushwalks have morning tea provided with tea, coffee and delicious chocolate treats available.

Macquarie Community College also operates from a range of venues across North and Western Sydney. We have campuses in Carlingford, Chatswood, Blacktown, Mt Druitt, Richmond and many more. Enrol online today or call us to have a chat about your options.
