Bushwalk 3 -Waratah Bay to Mount Kuring-gai – Sunday 3 June – Sydney Course

This walk takes us across ridges on scenic open trails and foot pads then down through forested areas to a little beach by the water. Expect some of the most majestic views imaginable from the Birnie Lookout with grand views of Scotland Island, Pittwater and beyond. Another highlight is a walk through a natural sandstone rock cave.

Important Information

  • Meeting Place: Meet adjacent to #2 Glenview Road, Mount Kuring-gai
  • Driving Instructions: Allow minimum 30 mins travel time from Macquarie Park
From Macquarie Park, drive north on Lane Cove Road/Ryde Road [3.7km then veer left onto Pacific Hwy. Drive 5.3km then turn right onto M1 motorway. Drive north for 4km leaving M1 at first exit (Mount Colah/Bobbin Head exit). Turn left onto Ku-ring-gai Chase Rd (0.5km), right onto Belmont Pde (0.2km), left over railway line (30m) then turn right onto Pacific Hwy. Drive 3.3km then turn left into Glenview Rd (50m). (Allow minimum 30mins travel time from Macquarie Park).

Event Amendments

Bushwalks can sometimes be rescheduled to an alternative location due to park closures, bushfires, flooding, and for other unforeseen circumstances. Bushwalk amendments are usually sent out by e-mail or by phone on the Friday/Saturday preceding the walk. To ensure you are properly informed of any changes, please be sure to pass on your e-mail address and mobile phone number to the Event Co-ordinator prior to the Thursday of your first walk. Operational Conditions and Postponements

We reserve the right to alter or postpone the event/s or part thereof due to extremes of weather or changes to operational conditions such as road closures, bushfires or conditions beyond our usual control. Every effort will be made to keep to the itinerary and advertised departure times, but no guarantee can be made and no compensation shall be made for failure to meet those times.

Our events take place in all but exceptional weather conditions. Conditions such as mist, fog showers, rain and windy conditions do not usually affect the event operation. However, if the weather is deemed to be extreme, the event/s will be postponed to another date. Pre-paid event fees will be credited to the new date or a future event.
