Bushwalk 1 – Path of The Bidjigal – Sunday 4th August, 2019 – Sydney Course

Escape to the great outdoors with our resident bushwalking guide, Greg Williams, who has been leading bushwalks around Sydney for over 33 years. You can book each bushwalk individually or book the 'Bushwalking – Sunday Adventure Bushwalks Package' which includes all four bushwalks at a discounted price.

Bushwalk 1 – Bidjigal Reserve, is a 300 hectare corridor of protected public bushland situated on the outskirts of Sydney. With towering eucalypt forest, weathered sandstone cliffs, giant rock overhangs, sparkling creeks and sheltered rainforest gullies.

Path of The Bidjigal is a great starter walk for those who have had little bushwalking experience. This walk meanders along a portion of the Parramatta to Thornleigh access trail for the Great North Walk.

During the walk, we will sidle beside the creek making our way downstream from West Pennant Hills toward Parramatta through the heart of the Darling Mills Forest. This forest is now known as Bidjigal Reserve because of its Aboriginal significance. There will be some exotic foliage enhanced by the magnificent Darling Mills high forests that captures the sound of the native bird life in the area. Plants to look out for are the Black Wattle, Lilly Pilly, Coachwood and Blueberry Ash.

All bushwalks have morning tea provided with tea, coffee and delicious chocolate treats available.

Macquarie Community College also operates from a range of venues across North and Western Sydney. We have campuses in Carlingford, Chatswood, Blacktown, Mt Druitt, Richmond and many more. Enrol online today or call us to have a chat about your options.
