Have you ever wanted to learn hand embroidery skills, a new stitch technique or perhaps finish off an old craft project?

This hands-on course will teach you most forms of embroidery techniques, including surface stitchery, traditional embroidery, smocking, heirloom sewing and more.

  • Heirloom sewing
  • Stumpwork
  • Knitting
  • Crochet
  • Garment construction

Course Outcome

By the end of the course you will have learnt specific skills and techniques in embrodery, stiching and needlecraft and produced a sample or product in your chosen technique.

What to Bring

Each week you will need to bring:

  • Pen and notebook
  • Pencil
  • Embroidery scissors
  • Pins
  • Tape measure
  • Embroidery hoop (20cm is a good size)
  • Selection of hand sewing needles
  • Selection of embroidery threads
  • 30cm piece of plain cotton material for practice stitches
  • Thimble

Prerequisite: Desirable

Students do not need to have any prior knowledge of any needlecraft/open craft techniques.

This class is suitable for beginners to advanced levels of embroidery skills.

Delivery Mode

This course will involve a combination of teacher demonstrations and student practical work. You will complete individual projects at your own pace with guidance from the tutor.
