Formal Cake Styles- Sydney Course

With formal cakes always a popular choice for any occasion, this course will teach you all the skills you need to make your own creations and designs at home. From the basics of piping to the skill of working with fondant, this course has something for everyone. A great starting point for any cake enthusiast or for anyone wanting to brush up on some existing skills.

You will learn how to make royal icing and pipe it using a variety of styles and techniques, colour and make fondant roses, prepare your cake by levelling, moisturising and ganaching it and how to cover your cake with fondant and add your finishing touches.

Course Outline

In this course, you will learn the following subjects:

  • Learn to make fondant roses, ready to apply to your cake later on.
  • Learn to pipe various styles using royal icing that you will make in class.
  • Learn how to prepare your cake by levelling, moisturising and ganaching it.
  • Learn how to cover your cake with fondant and add your finishing touches.

  • A variety of piping techniques.
  • How to make fondant roses.
  • How to colour your fondant.
  • Levelling, moisturising & ganaching a cake.
