Hospitality Taster – Sydney Course

Get a TASTE of Hospitality with an Introduction to Barista Coffee, Food & Beverage. An interactive, fun & hands on environment to provide you with a ‘TASTE’ of what it will be like to work in the hospitality industry and study the full Certificate II in Hospitality.
On completion you will have basic skills within the hospitality industry such as food safety, safe food practices, barista coffee, interacting with customers and financial transactions.

What to Bring

All course material is provided and inclusive with course fees. Please bring along a notebook and pen.


  • Australian or New Zealand citizen/permanent resident
  • Humanitarian visa holders
  • NSW apprentice and new entrant trainees
  • 15 years or older
  • No longer at school
  • Live or work in NSW

Recognition of Prior Learning

Vocational training gives you a nationally recognised qualification that formally verifies your competency in key work skills. Competency is most commonly achieved through learning with our trainers; however, if you believe you are already competent in some of the skills required for your qualification, you can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). MCC recognises prior skills and knowledge gained through previous studies and work experience. If you would like to apply for RPL, please contact us for an RPL kit. MCC recognises Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) qualifications and statements of attainment from any other RTO or TAFE.

Study Load

  • The time required to complete the Hospitality Taster course is 60 hours over a 6 week period, plus assessment tasks to be done at home.

How You Will Be Assessed

The assessor will test your new knowledge and skills through written and oral tasks, practical tasks and observations. The assessor will let you know when the assessments will take place.
