Be Connected - What is WiFi? - Sydney Course

Wi-Fi stands for Wireless Fidelity and it is basically a way to connect to the internet without the use of cables. It works in a similar way to a wireless radio. In fact, this internet access is often referred to as a wireless network. With Wi-Fi, you can relax on the couch and read your emails, browse photos at a cafe, or watch a movie from a website in bed, without getting tangled up in cables!

During this workshop, you will learn about what Wi-Fi is, how to get access to Wi-Fi wherever you are, which devices can use Wi-Fi, and how to connect to Wi-Fi so that you can browse the internet.

Macquarie Community College is committed to closing the digital divide. That's why we are network partners with ‘Be Connected’, an Australian Government initiative aimed at increasing the confidence, skills and online safety of older Australians in using digital technology.
