Government funding is available for many of the accredited training courses offered by Macquarie Community College.

Funding opportunities are available from time to time for both new employees and existing workers. Some programs are available only through employers and others directly to employees. Please contact us to find out what funding is available right now and whether you are eligible. We are committed to finding the best government funding for you.

Traineeships

In most industries traineeships are only available to new employees. Employers receive funding support to take on new personnel as trainees. However, in select priority industries, training is also available to existing workers. Contact us to find out if you or your staff are eligible.

Smart and Skilled

Smart and Skilled identifies courses relating to high priority industries in New South Wales. The government contributes towards the cost of courses on the NSW Skills List for eligible students. Smart and Skilled funding is also provided to learners who need extra support or assistance with reading, writing and numeracy. Vet Fee-Help

Vet Fee-Help is a loan scheme that helps Australian citizens and permanent humanitarian visa holders pay for eligible diploma and advanced diploma courses. The loan removes the burden of up-front fees and makes higher education more accessible. You repay these fees through the taxation system once you reach a certain income level. Skillmax – Employment

AMES

Skillmax is a FEE FREE jobseeker course for permanent Australian residents who have university degrees from overseas institutions and need assistance seeking employment in their field of professional expertise. The course includes Australian job-seeking skills and guidance, interview preparation, and resume and application letter writing. It is delivered over 15 hours per week and runs for five weeks (75 hours).

Skillmax – English for Employment

AMES

English for Employment (EFE) is a FEE FREE course for permanent Australian residents with overseas tertiary qualifications who wish to enter the workforce in their field of expertise as well as improve their English communication skills. The course provides insights into the current expectations of finding work and gives students language support as they learn and practise professional English and interact in mock scenarios. The 150 hour course is delivered 15 hours per week over a 10 week period.
