Italian – Intermediate – Sydney Course

Course Description

Students will have completed at least two terms of study. Students will develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. The cultural component will be integrated in the lesson.

Course Outline

Topics include:

  • Leisure and pastimes
  • Find out the things and activities preferred
  • Ask why and give reasons
  • Arrival and departure times
  • Occupations
  • Modes of transport
  • Grammar: present tense, irregular verbs, piacere. Articulated prepositions. Demonstrative pronouns.

Course Outcome

  • At the end of the course, students should be able to:
  • Conduct a basic conversation in elementary Italian
  • Give basic instructions and directions and build general comprehension and communication skills

Prerequisite: Essential

  • Students need to have completed a minimum of two terms of recent study in the language, and are acquainted with the content of the Beginners course.

Delivery Mode

  • This course is classroom-based and includes group exercises, group discussion, reading dialogue, written exercises, and games to practice new learned skills in an enjoyable way.
