Patchwork, Appliqué and Quilting Course Sydney

Join our patchwork, appliqué and quilting course. Gain the confidence to choose great fabrics for your own bag or quilt. Learn how to cut fabric properly, sew squares together and more about colour, design and fabric types.

Course Outline

In this course you will learn:

  • How to use a rotary cutter, ruler and mat
  • Fabric grain threads
  • Colour, design and fabric types used in patchwork
  • How to sew squares together
  • How to compile a reference folder with samples

What to Bring

You will be provided with:

  • Class notes
  • Fabric samples

You will need to bring:

  • A4 2-ring folder, A4 paper and plastic sleeves
  • Pen
  • Pacer pencil, 2B pencil and erasers
  • Clear ruler with inch measurements
  • Tape measure
  • Compasses
  • Glue stick
  • Paper scissors and fabric scissors
  • Sewing kit
  • Crewel needle no. 9
  • Cream cotton machine thread
  • Glass head pins
  • Patchwork tools (if already owned)
  • Homespun scraps (if you already have some)

Prerequisite: Desirable

This course is suitable for beginners or intermediate.
