Course Overview

When selling your home or investment property, presentation is a critical part of the selling process. In this Home Owner DIY Staging Workshop you will learn how styling a property for sale can add up to 5% – 10% to your sales price!

The aim of property styling is to maximise the property’s appeal to attract as many buyers as possible. You want buyers to imagine themselves living in your property, you want to create an emotional connection with your home. This connection drives competition amongst buyers and is a driving force behind achieving a higher price.

There are many simple ways you can style your own property and this workshop will cover some fundamental basics whilst also giving you golden nuggets of insights from industry professionals to help you style your home yourself.

Who is this workshop for? This is perfect for homeowners who are about to put their property on the market, investors/developers wanting to sell, anyone interested in interior decorating and or property styling and those wanting to learn how to utilise different spaces and areas in their homes.

What you will learn

Course outline

The workshop will teach you step by step:

  • Basics and fundamentals of property staging for real estate sales.
  • How to expertly stage vacant or occupied rooms yourself.
  • Empower you to understand how buyers think and what buyers are looking for.
  • Learn budget-conscious updates that will ensure a great return.
  • Find out what items you need to remove and what to add in different rooms/areas.
  • Quick and easy well-proven methods that will deliver amazing property presentation results.
  • Visually increase the size of rooms with proven techniques.
  • How to visually enhance the special features of your property.

Includes a Practical Component:

  • You will have the opportunity to work with styling items and accessories to put designs together yourself to further imbed the concepts learned.

Course outcome

At the end of the workshop:

  • You will know the difference between property staging, interior design and interior decorating.
  • You will have confidence shopping for the right styling items when getting your property ready for sale.
  • You will be able to save money by styling the property yourself.
  • Utilising items you already have to create a styled space.
  • Have professional stylist knowledge of how to present each space yourself.
  • You will also be able to provide friends and family with basic home staging knowledge learned during the workshop, including tips and techniques that can help them present their homes for sale.

Entry requirements

This foundational workshop is suitable for the complete beginner. It assumes no prior knowledge of property staging/styling. It is also suitable for those who have acquired some of the basic concepts through their own research or reading interior design magazines or watching reality shows like ‘The Block’ or ‘House Rules’ but have not undertaken prior formal study.

Step 1

Anyone 18 years or older may enrol into our non-accredited short courses by: • choosing the course you are interested in and; • finding a day and time that is suitable.

Step 2

Step 3

Once your enrolment has been processed, you will receive the following emails: • Enrolment confirmation: you will receive this immediately after your enrolment has been processed. Please check and read your Terms and conditions. • Tax invoice: the payer of your enrolment will receive this immediately after your enrolment has been processed. • Course reminder: you will receive a reminder the day prior to your class commencement. • Zoom link (for remote zoom classes only): you will receive a Zoom link and password the day prior to class commencement.
