Course Overview
This online professional learning session – Child Protection Refresher, is designed to refresh early childhood educators’ knowledge and confidence in identifying and responding to child protection concerns in Early Education and Care settings.
Child protection training is critical for all educators working with children and young people, supporting them to recognise indicators of risk, understand their legal responsibilities, and respond appropriately to concerns of harm, abuse, or neglect.
Grounded in current legislation, ethical practice, and sector expectations, this refresher supports educators to maintain compliance with mandatory reporting requirements while prioritising the safety, wellbeing, and rights of children.
Participants will revisit key concepts and build confidence in applying child-safe practices in everyday work. The course also reinforces the importance of documentation, professional judgement, and collaboration when managing and responding to child protection concerns.
