In this two hour workshop we will equip you with the skills needed to respond to unexpected emergencies, keeping both you and the dog safe.
You will learn to assess your dogs’s vital signs, and provide care during emergencies such as wounds, bleeding, poisoning, choking, and more.

By the end of this workshop you will have learnt about:
- Safety in canine first aid
- Cardio pulmonary resuscitation including vital signs and body check
- Wounds and bleeding management
- Choking
- Poisoning
- Insect bites and stings
- Fractures and other injuries

Course outcome
At the end of the session you will feel more confident and better equipped to recognise and manage a dog needing critical care and assist the dog until you can seek the assistance of a veterinarian
What you need to know
Entry requirements
Students should either have a dog or have owned a dog prior with an interest in learning more about dogs in general.
Completion of the Pre-Questionnaire provided by the college if possible before the commencement of the workshop.
