Luminarias – Watercolour Paper Lanterns

Course Overview

Discover the beautiful connection between colour, light and creativity in this hands-on watercolour paper lantern workshop. Designed for complete beginners and creative enthusiasts, Luminarias introduces simple watercolour painting and paper-craft techniques while guiding you through the process of creating your own decorative paper lantern.

During this creative workshop, you will explore beginner-friendly watercolour techniques including colour blending, washes, layering and colour mixing. You will experiment with patterns, textures, transparency and luminous effects before transforming your painted watercolour paper into a handcrafted lantern.

With step-by-step guidance, you will learn how to cut, fold, shape and assemble your artwork into a finished Luminaria. You will be encouraged to experiment with your own colour combinations, patterns and creative ideas, with individual guidance provided throughout the workshop.

No previous watercolour painting or paper-craft experience is required. This workshop provides a relaxed and supportive environment where adults can slow down, explore their creativity and enjoy the mindful process of making something beautiful by hand.

By the end of the workshop, you will take home your own handcrafted watercolour paper lantern, along with new watercolour and paper-craft skills that you can continue exploring at home.
