In this hands-on session, you’ll learn how to find, download, and use apps designed to support everyday activities. You’ll also explore how to manage app settings, organise your apps, and use trusted services safely and confidently.

This beginner-friendly workshop is designed to build your digital confidence step by step in a relaxed and supportive environment, helping you get the most out of your device.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

This course is designed for beginners who want to learn how to use apps to make everyday tasks easier and more efficient.

Prerequisite: Essential

Participants must be aged 60+. Tech Savvy Seniors is part of the NSW Ageing Strategy and is funded in partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra.

What you need to provide

  • A smartphone or tablet
  • Your device should be charged and in working order
  • Access to Wi-Fi (where possible)
  • Any login details for apps you currently use (optional)
  • Notepad and pen for taking notes (optional)

  • This is a hands-on course with a combination of demonstrations and practical activities
  • You will practise downloading and using real-life apps relevant to everyday needs
  • Some apps may require accounts (e.g. myGov or Service NSW) to access full features
  • You will learn how to stay safe when using apps and protect your personal information
  • The session is tailored to learner needs, allowing you to explore apps most relevant to you

How to Enrol

Step 1 - Choose Your Course

  • Select the non-accredited short course you are interested in.
  • Find a day and time that suits your schedule.

Note: Enrolment is open to anyone 18 years or older.

Step 2 - Enrol and Verify

  • Click ‘Enrol Now’ after selecting your course and schedule.
  • Enter your details on the enrolment page.
  • Verify your email through a secure link sent to your email address.
  • Complete the secure checkout and payment process.

Step 3 - Receive Your Enrolment Details

  • You will receive a course reminder email a day before your class begins.
  • For Online Zoom classes, a Zoom link and password will be emailed the day before class. Use the same link and password for subsequent sessions if applicable.
