Explore the functionalities of the Cloud and harness its capabilities to enhance your digital experience. In Introduction to Cloud 1 we will have learnt:

  • What is the cloud
  • What are the benefits of using the cloud
  • The risks in using cloud computing
  • Which cloud to use
  • This workshop guides you through setting up your own cloud using Dropbox

Course outcome

  • This workshop will allow you to set-up and use the cloud product called Dropbox

What you need to know

Entry requirements

This workshop is a continuation of cloud 1 workshop. It is highly desirable if you have previously attended cloud 1 where the concept of cloud computing is discussed and the context behind the use of Dropbox will be explained.

Prerequisite: Essential

Participants must be over 60 years old. Tech Savvy Seniors is an initiative of the NSW Ageing Strategy and is funded in partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra.

What you need to provide

  • Notepad and pen
  • An internet-connected laptop or desktop computer; either your own or supplied by the workshop organisers. You may need to share a computer with others in the workshop.
  • If you bring your own Apple iPhone or iPad or Android phone or tablet then, if time permits, we will install Dropbox on your device. Please bring your Apple ID and password or Google user and password.

How to Enrol

Step 1 - Choose Your Course

  • Select the non-accredited short course you are interested in.
  • Find a day and time that suits your schedule.

Note: Enrolment is open to anyone 18 years or older.

Step 2 - Enrol and Verify

  • Click ‘Enrol Now’ after selecting your course and schedule.
  • Enter your details on the enrolment page.
  • Verify your email through a secure link sent to your email address.
  • Complete the secure checkout and payment process.

Step 3 - Receive Your Enrolment Details

  • You will receive a course reminder email a day before your class begins.
  • For Online Zoom classes, a Zoom link and password will be emailed the day before class. Use the same link and password for subsequent sessions if applicable.
