Learn how to utilise your iPad to its maximum potential with Tech Savvy Seniors Introduction to iPad Tablets!
In this workshop you will learn useful tips on how to browse the web, watch movies, play games, send and receive emails, even type up letters on the iPad. Whoever you are, there are lots of reasons to learn more about the iPad! iPads are a revolutionary new way of accessing the internet, playing games and communicating.
You’ve seen friends and family watching movies and reading books on the iPad and want to find out more, or you want to surf the internet and send emails but don’t need or want a computer. Or maybe you like your computer but wish it was easier to use and move from place to place.

What you will learn

- Topics covered in the workshop include:
- Differences between a computer and an iPad and how the two can work together
- Using the touchscreen and understanding gesture control
- How to start up programs on the iPad, connect wirelessly to the internet and how to navigate using a virtual keyboard
- How to navigate the web using the iPad
- Apps and various media from online stores

What you need to know
Entry requirements
Students must have basic knowledge of using a smartphone and should have an Apple iPad.
Prerequisite: Essential
Participants must be over 60 years old. Tech Savvy Seniors is an initiative of the NSW Ageing Strategy and is funded in partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra.
What you need to provide
- Notepad and pen
- Your own iPad tablet
- An internet connected laptop or desktop computer is provided by the workshop organisers. You may need to share a computer with others in the workshop.
