Course Overview

Need a quick, cheap and easy way to share photos and videos online directly with a few people? With our Introduction to Shared Photos Online we will teach you to display photos at the one online place so that everyone you know can view them!

You may already have a Facebook account and email address but want to learn how – and when – to make the most of them to share photos, videos and other files.

Take control of your digital storytelling, connect with friends and family, and learn the art of creating a centralised online space for your memories. Join us in this and dive into the world of shared photos online!

What you will learn

Course outline

In this workshop we will cover using email and Facebook to share your photos and files. First up, we will look at how to attach files to your emails.

Second, we will look at how you can use your Facebook account (if you have one) to upload individual photos and entire photo albums to the web, for viewing by anybody on your friends list – or in the world, if you choose.

What you need to know

Entry requirements

Prerequisite: Essential

Participants must be over 60 years old. Tech Savvy Seniors is an initiative of the NSW Ageing Strategy and is funded in partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra.

Participants should also have:

  • A basic knowledge of email – your email account details including password
  • A basic knowledge of Facebook – your Facebook account details including password
  • A basic knowledge of your smartphone
  • A basic knowledge of PC functionality – how to start and close a Windows PC, how to control a mouse, how to find and open a program, how to navigate on any web browser of your choice (Google Chrome, Apple Safari or Microsoft Edge)

Prerequisite: Desirable

  • Some knowledge of web navigation would be advantageous, but not essential.

What you need to provide

If you wish, bring your own Windows laptop

Note: A Windows PC with Microsoft Word will be provided

How to Enrol

Step 1 - Choose Your Course

  • Select the non-accredited short course you are interested in.
  • Find a day and time that suits your schedule.

Note: Enrolment is open to anyone 18 years or older.

Step 2 - Enrol and Verify

  • Click ‘Enrol Now’ after selecting your course and schedule.
  • Enter your details on the enrolment page.
  • Verify your email through a secure link sent to your email address.
  • Complete the secure checkout and payment process.

Step 3 - Receive Your Enrolment Details

  • You will receive a course reminder email a day before your class begins.
  • For Online Zoom classes, a Zoom link and password will be emailed the day before class. Use the same link and password for subsequent sessions if applicable.
