Course Overview
Learn the foundations of flower arranging in this hands-on floristry course for beginners and creative learners. Designed for adults of all experience levels, this course introduces essential floral design techniques while helping participants build confidence working with fresh flowers and seasonal materials.
Each week, students will create practical floral arrangements using a variety of flowers, containers and styling techniques. Guided by an experienced tutor, participants will explore colour, texture, balance and composition while developing creative skills through contemporary and vintage-inspired floral designs.
Students will learn practical floristry techniques including bouquet construction, flower care, gift wrapping and arrangement styling for the home, workplace or special occasions. Every class includes step-by-step demonstrations and opportunities to create personalised floral arrangements in supportive community learning environments.

In this course you will learn:
- Hand-held posy for a vase
- Flower box arrangement
- Fresh flower hand-tied bouquet
- Ceramic pot or basket arrangement
- Modern frontal arrangement in a bowl or box
- Themed table centerpiece
- Floral gift wrapping
- Seasonal floral creations
- Floral philosophy, such as colour and texture
- Tips and techniques such as wiring, parafilming and cut flower care

Course outcome
By the end of this course, participants will understand the foundations of flower arrangement and basic floristry techniques. Students will gain confidence creating floral designs using different flowers, containers and styling methods while developing practical skills in bouquet making, flower care and presentation.

Entry requirements
This course is suitable for all levels. Complete beginners are welcome as well as those students who have already completed the Introduction to Flower Arrangement course or higher levels.
What you need to provide
The course fee includes the flowers for the first lesson. Remaining classes flowers cost are payable to the tutor.
Please bring
- $35 for subsequent lessons (this will be for all flowers and sundries)
- Pen and notepad
- Secateurs or florist scissors
Please note: The teacher has florist scissors ($6) and rose strippers ($4) if you want to purchase them.
