Experience the energy and joy of Bollywood dance in this beginner-friendly course for adults. Learn expressive dance techniques inspired by Indian films in a fun and welcoming environment.
Guided by experienced Bollywood dance professional Prafulla Parida, students will learn choreography to three popular film songs. Classes focus on rhythm, movement, facial expression and storytelling through dance.
Bollywood dance combines fitness, creativity and cultural expression. This course helps adults build confidence, coordination and performance skills through energetic movement and music.
Suitable for complete beginners and non-Hindi speakers, the course provides supportive step-by-step instruction at a comfortable pace. Participants can enjoy movement, reduce stress and explore a vibrant dance style while learning in a social environment.

What you will learn
Course outline
Learn dynamic and expressive choreography to three different songs from Indian films.
- Weeks 1–2: Learning a dance to Song 1
- Weeks 3–4: Learning a dance to Song 2
- Weeks 5–6: Learning a dance to Song 3
- Weeks 7–8: Revising and polishing technique, and blending the three dances together
Course outcome
By the end of this course, participants will have learned beginner Bollywood dance choreography inspired by Indian films. Students will improve confidence, coordination, rhythm and expressive movement skills.
Participants will also gain a greater appreciation of Bollywood dance storytelling and cultural expression through music and movement.
What you need to know
Entry requirements
This beginners course is suitable for complete dance beginners and non-Hindi speakers. Steps will be taught slowly, and translations of the song lyrics can be provided by the teacher.

- Loose, comfortable clothing suitable for dancing
- Water and a towel

- Taught in an indoor classroom space
- 8 weeks, 1 hour per week
- The first 10 minutes of each class is a warm-up, followed by 50 minutes of instruction
