You’ll explore the fundamentals of good vocal technique through practical exercises such as warm-ups, lip trills, and diaphragm breathing. Learn how to sing on pitch, project your voice correctly, and develop techniques suited to your unique vocal range.

No previous singing experience is required—just a love for music and a willingness to learn. Throughout the course, you’ll practise singing new songs, improve your timing and phrasing, and gain the confidence to use your voice more effectively.

Course outline

  • The importance of warming up the voice before singing
  • Scales- To improve vocal range
  • Lip Trills- To Relieve tension
  • Diaphragm breathing
  • A simple song to help sing on pitch and within a comfortable vocal range
  • For the student songs will be learned from a variety of genres including popular music, music theatre, jazz and traditional folk music

Course outcome

At the end of the course, you as a student will have gained an understanding of the importance of singing using the correct vocal techniques that have been taught in the class room.

You would have also developed confidence to perform in front of an audience after improving your voice with the proper singing techniques.

How to Enrol

Step 1 - Choose Your Course

  • Select the non-accredited short course you are interested in.
  • Find a day and time that suits your schedule.

Note: Enrolment is open to anyone 18 years or older.

Step 2 - Enrol and Verify

  • Click ‘Enrol Now’ after selecting your course and schedule.
  • Enter your details on the enrolment page.
  • Verify your email through a secure link sent to your email address.
  • Complete the secure checkout and payment process.

Step 3 - Receive Your Enrolment Details

  • You will receive a course reminder email a day before your class begins.
  • For Online Zoom classes, a Zoom link and password will be emailed the day before class. Use the same link and password for subsequent sessions if applicable.
