Course Overview
Step into the great outdoors with our experienced bushwalking guide, Greg Williams, who has been leading walks across Sydney for nearly 40 years. You can join individual walks or book the Sunday Adventure Bushwalks Package to experience all four walks this term at a discounted price.
Many of our bushwalks will take you from delightful and attractive babbling brooks in lush wet forests, to hilltops with astounding panoramic views. Walk through magnificent high forests, rainforests and onto open air ridges. See Aboriginal engravings, waterfalls, secluded rock pools and much more.
Popran National Park bushwalk located on the Central Coast in a remote and scenic area known for its creeks, rock pools, and preserved Aboriginal heritage.
This walk takes you deep into the heart of the park, including a journey to the 248 Lookout, with spectacular views over Mangrove Creek and surrounding farmland. A short side track leads to Mount Olive, offering vistas across Glenworth Valley and as far south as Sydney.

Entry requirements
Macquarie Community College conducts a wide range of bushwalks for people who have limited bushwalking experience through to the experienced bushwalker.
Most bushwalking trails are generally suitable for those who have a reasonable level of fitness, although the bushwalks that have been graded “introductory” are usually suitable for those who have limited bushwalking experience.

What you need to provide
On our bushwalks you will need:
- Sturdy comfortable shoes
- Clothes for all weather conditions
- Wet weather gear (if required)
- Hat
- Small backpack
- Sunscreen, sunglasses
- Snacks, lunch
- Water bottles
Participants are expected to arrange their own transport to arrive at each meeting place on time, so that the group can start on schedule.
- Meeting Place: Adjacent to Pipeline trackhead, Mangrove Mountain
- Driving Instructions: Allow minimum 1 hour 5 minutes travel time from Macquarie Park.
Other information
- Bushwalks can sometimes be rescheduled to an alternative location due to park closures, bushfires, flooding, and for other unforeseen circumstances
- Bushwalk amendments are usually sent out by e-mail or by phone on the Friday/Saturday before the walk
- To ensure you are properly informed of any changes, please be sure to enrol with your current e-mail address and mobile phone number
- Macquarie Community College reserves the right to alter or postpone the bushwalk/s or part thereof due to extremes of weather or changes to operational conditions such as road closures, bushfires, or conditions beyond our usual control. Every effort will be made to keep to the itinerary and advertised departure times, but no guarantee can be made and no compensation shall be made for failure to meet those times
- Our bushwalks take place in all but exceptional weather conditions. Conditions such as mist, fog showers, rain and windy conditions do not usually affect the event operation. However, if the weather is deemed to be extreme, the event/s will be postponed to another date. Pre-paid event fees will be credited to the new date or a future event
