Join our resident bushwalking guide, Greg Williams, and escape to the great outdoors. With over 33 years of experience leading bushwalks around Sydney, Greg will guide you on a journey filled with history, heritage, and stunning views.
Sirius Cove to Rocky Point bushwalk reveals the stories of Sydney’s past. You will explore the gun placements built to defend the harbor from attack, and visit heritage-listed military sandstone buildings. Together we will see the remains of the first Aboriginal farm, established by Governor Phillip.

Entry requirements
Macquarie Community College offers a variety of bushwalks for all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned bushwalkers. Most trails are suitable for those with a reasonable level of fitness, while "introductory" graded bushwalks are ideal for those new to bushwalking.

What you need to provide
On our bushwalks you will need:
- Sturdy comfortable shoes
- Clothes for all weather conditions
- Wet weather gear (if required)
- Hat
- Small backpack
- Sunscreen, sunglasses
- Snacks, lunch
- Water bottles
Participants should arrange their own transport to arrive at meeting place on time, so that the group can start on schedule.

- Driving Instructions: Allow minimum 20 min travel time from Macquarie Park.
Other information
- We may occasionally need to reschedule bushwalks to an alternative location due to park closures, bushfires, flooding, or other unforeseen circumstances.
- We usually notify you of any changes by email or phone on the Friday or Saturday before the walk.
- To stay informed, please make sure to enrol with your current email address and mobile phone number.
Operational Conditions and Postponements
- Macquarie Community College may alter or postpone bushwalks due to extreme weather or unexpected operational conditions, such as road closures or bushfires. While we strive to follow the planned itinerary and departure times, we cannot guarantee them, and no compensation will be offered for any changes or delays.
- Our bushwalks continue in most weather conditions, including mist, fog, light rain, and wind. However, if the weather is deemed extreme, the event will be rescheduled to another date. Any pre-paid fees will be credited toward the new date or a future event.
