Tai Chi – The Supreme Art of Internal Alchemy

Course Overview

Tai Chi is more than just gentle exercise, it is an exploration of internal skill (nei gong), through refined relaxation, body alignment and mental focus (mindfulness). This is known in Chinese as “sung”. This holistic and natural approach, based on Chinese philosophy and Chinese traditional medicine, can create a resilient quality in the whole body. Through this course, we will explore the methods and techniques that have been practiced by the Chinese for centuries.

Tai Chi can promote health, increase concentration, reduce stress, boost energy and improve overall well being. Tai chi’s slow gentle and tranquil movements can encourage mind and body harmony. The graceful movements of Tai chi can lower high blood pressure, improve cardiovascular and metabolic efficiency, ventilate the lungs, strengthen the bones and muscles, and loosen the joints.

The practice is suitable for all ages, with everyone practicing at their own pace. It is also suitable for both beginners or those who have practiced Tai chi previously and would like to deepen their understanding of Tai Chi. The course is based on the system of Tai chi of grandmaster huang sheng shyan.

Macquarie Community College operates from a range of venues across Northern and Western Sydney. We have campuses in Blacktown, Carlingford, Chatswood, Epping, Mt Druitt, Richmond, and Ryde. Enrol now!
