NSW Government Subsidised Programs

NSW Government subsidies are available for many of the accredited training courses offered by Macquarie Community College.

Subsidy opportunities are available from time to time for both new employees and existing workers. Some programs are available only through employers and others directly to employees. Adult and Community Education

The NSW Government’s Adult and Community Education (ACE) Program provides additional support to disadvantaged students who have barriers to studying a full qualification. The ACE Program aims to promote access and increase vocational education and training outcomes for those who experience significant barriers to training and employment. Smart and Skilled

Smart and Skilled identifies nationally accredited qualifications relating to high priority industries in New South Wales. The NSW Government contributes towards the cost of courses on the NSW Skills List for eligible students. Smart and Skilled subsidies are also provided to learners who need extra support or assistance with reading, writing and numeracy or to “learners” with multiple barriers to achieving a full qualification. JobTrainer/Skilling for Recovery

The Skilling for Recovery Training Initiative is part of a matched funding commitment of almost $320 million between the NSW and Australian government’s under the JobTrainer Fund. Skilling for Recovery is a key component of the State’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan. As an approved provider, Macquarie Community College has training places and funding available.

Traineeships

In most industries traineeships are available to new and existing employees. Employers receive NSW Government incentives to take on new personnel as trainees and provide study support.
