“I wanted to do something different and really let my creativity flourish. In all honestly, I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did!
“Once I discovered how much money I could save by putting these skills to use for my daughter’s wedding, I was sold. I used what I learnt from the course and sourced flowers from local markets to turn them into arrangements that were exactly what my daughter was after on her special day.”

Peta’s skills and newfound passion where ones celebrated in the office too as a member of the Macquarie Community College team – a team she had joined just prior to participating in the course.
“I love doing this. Especially as a participant so early on in my time working at Macquarie Community College. A couple of years back the program coordinator went on leave, and I was able to step in for short time as the program coordinator, I really enjoyed seeing all the different outcomes of the participants. No two arrangements ever look the same – that’s part of the beauty of it.
“I wanted to do something different and really let my creativity flourish. In all honestly, I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did – and fast forward 10 years, I’m still working with Macquarie Community College and now I help coordinate the program, and I don’t plan it on ending any time soon,” Peta says.
