NVCER Survey Results : How Students benefit from training with Macquarie Community College
We are delighted to share the recently received very pleasing results from the 2023 National Student Outcomes Survey and the NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled Provider snapshot.
These independent reports demonstrate the quality of what we do at the College. More importantly they fuel our commitment to our vision of stronger communities through the power of learning and connection. Our commitment is unwavering at Macquarie Community College to our learners, many of whom face barriers to participating in learning and employment.
Celebrating Excellence: Macquarie Community College’s 2023 Staff Recognition Awards
Recently we held our Staff Recognition Awards event to acknowledge and celebrate the dedication and milestones of Training, Teaching and Staff. It was wonderful to see such an incredible turn out where this annual event honours our team members who have demonstrated either outstanding commitment, excellence in teaching, or significant service anniversaries.
Bridging the Digital Gap
At Macquarie Community College, we work tirelessly to bridge the “digital divide” to ensure those within our communities do not suffer from digital exclusion. The acceleration of digitalisation has left many behind, creating distinct gaps and disparity in access, affordability, and skills in using computers, phones, and tablets.
New adult community education opportunities opening in Epping
Recently we expanded our operations with a new campus, in the culturally diverse, rapidly changing suburb of Epping. The opening ceremony was officiated by Donna Davis, Member of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales. Also present was David Collins PSM with senior staff of NSW State Training, Board members of Macquarie Community College, local service providers, staff and local students.
Refugee Week 2023: Denys’s Journey Finding Freedom
The theme of Refugee Week 2023, Finding Freedom, explores the concept of freedom and what it means to be free, including living without fear, having basic human rights upheld, and living without fear of persecution. To understand the sacrifices, challenges and decisions a refugee experiences, we interviewed our Advanced English student Denys Levchenko, who left the life he built in Ukraine to secure the safety of his family.
Recognising Excellence: Celebrating Our Outstanding Trainers through the Epping Rotary Pride of Workmanship Awards
Recently Macquarie Community College was invited to nominate staff members for the Epping Rotary Club, Pride of Workmanship award scheme. For many years the Epping Rotary Club has been very supportive of the college and we extend our sincerest gratitude to Epping Rotary for the warm and gracious hospitality extended to Macquarie Community College the awards event. The evening was a true celebration of the remarkable work carried out by our esteemed trainers, David Vasey and Elaine Witton who both received the Pride of Workmanship award.
2022 NCVER Survey: Macquarie Community College Students Achieve Great Employment Outcomes
Results from The National Student Outcomes Survey are out!
It revealed that Macquarie Community College is helping more Australians find employment, while meeting an unprecedented workforce shortage across multiple sectors, through its tailored training programs.
The 2022 National Student Outcomes Survey was conducted by NCVER into VET graduate outcomes and satisfaction. It highlighted the success of the College in:
– Improving employment outcomes for students
– Increasing student satisfaction with training
The NSW Department of Education continues to recognise Macquarie Community College as a high performing provider.
Exciting News: Macquarie Community College Opens a New Campus in Epping
We are excited to announce that we will be opening an additional new campus in Epping to cater for the growth of the College and our School, Gateway Community High. The new site in Epping is just a 5-minute drive from our existing Carlingford campus and is on Level 3 of a modern low-rise building on the corner of Carlingford Road and Rawson Street at Epping.
NSW Department of Education senior executives visit Macquarie Community College
Macquarie Community College recently welcomed senior executives from the NSW Department of Education on a visit to our Carlingford campus – the shared home of the College and Gateway Community High school.
The Department delegation included members from a range of teams keen to see and understand how Macquarie Community College Group offers such a diverse range of inclusive and affordable programs to its diverse range of students.
