Harmony Week – Celebrating Culture, Community and Belonging

Harmony Week 2026 brought our campuses together in a vibrant celebration of culture, connection, and shared experiences.

At Macquarie Community College, our team believes learning goes beyond the classroom.
We create spaces where everyone feels welcome, valued, and included.

Celebrating Diversity Across Campuses

Across our campuses, students and tutors came together to celebrate their cultures.

Common spaces turned into lively gathering points. Classrooms filled with colour, stories, and laughter.

At our Mount Druitt campus, Hospitality students, together with their tutor Lochlan Baines, prepared a fantastic morning tea.

They used this opportunity to practise their hospitality skills by preparing food, mocktails, and serving coffee.

Students and staff proudly wore traditional clothing that reflected their heritage.
Each outfit told a story of identity, family, and culture.

SEE Program

Our SEE program* team went even further. They created an interactive quiz journey that combined cultural learning with English language practice.

Food played a special role in the celebrations. Students brought traditional dishes and shared meals with classmates.

These moments created connection, curiosity, and meaningful conversations.
Each dish carried a story. Each story brought people closer together.

Learning Through Cultural Exchange

Harmony Week at MCC is more than a celebration.
It is a learning experience built on respect and understanding.

Students shared their backgrounds, traditions, and personal journeys.
They listened, learned, and connected with one another.

These exchanges help build confidence, communication, and a strong sense of belonging.

Celebrating Together Online

Our online classes also embraced Harmony Week with enthusiasm.

Students joined virtual celebrations and shared their cultures from home.
They spoke about their traditions, favourite foods, and personal experiences.

Even online, the sense of community remained strong and inclusive.

At MCC, we encourage everyone to bring their whole self into the learning environment.
We celebrate diversity and create a space where every voice matters.

Every student has a story, and every story deserves to be heard.

Building Connection Through Learning

Harmony Week reflects what makes MCC special.

We are more than a place to study.
We are a community where people grow, connect, and support one another.

Through shared experiences, we build confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging.
