Looking for work can feel overwhelming when you are not sure where to start.
Do you need a better resume? More confidence at interviews? A clearer career direction? Or perhaps you have been away from the workforce for some time and need support taking the first step back.
Macquarie Community College offers Employment Readiness Programs and job training workshops for adult jobseekers in Sydney, designed to help you identify what is holding you back and build practical skills for your next step.
What Is an Employment Readiness Program?
An employment readiness program helps jobseekers prepare for finding, applying for and maintaining employment.
MCC’s Career Development – Employment Readiness Program runs for eight weeks and uses the Employment Readiness Scale™ to identify your strengths, gaps in work readiness and priorities for development. Students receive a personalised action plan and work on practical career skills throughout the program.
The program can support adults who are unemployed, recent graduates, people changing careers, those returning to work and people experiencing barriers to employment.

What skills can you build?
Depending on your needs, MCC’s employment and job-ready training can help you develop skills in:
- career planning and goal setting
- identifying transferable and in-demand skills
- resume and cover letter writing
- creating a professional LinkedIn profile
- job interview preparation
- mock interview practice
- confidence and self-esteem
- returning to work after a long absence
The full Employment Readiness Program brings many of these areas together, while individual workshops allow you to focus on a particular skill.
