Course outcome

By the end of the course you will:

  • Basic skill in both calligraphy and painting
  • Deeper understanding of Chinese aesthetic
  • Painting is identical to drawing in Chinese brush art
  • Usage of Chinese xuan paper, ink, and different pigments
  • Ying Yang theory in Chinese art
  • To know where to buy relevant material and get useful resources

What you need to know

Entry requirements

This course assumes no prior knowledge of painting but is also suitable for those with some painting experience. The course is flexible so that it can cater for any level of experience.

What you need to provide

  • Chinese xuan paper
  • Chinese bottle ink
  • Chinese brush( preferably small size white cloud or orchid bamboo)
  • Ink and water container
  • Plastic or pottery palette

  • Find a day and time that suits your schedule.

Note: Enrolment is open to anyone 18 years or older.

Step 2 - Enrol and Verify

  • Enter your details on the enrolment page.
  • Verify your email through a secure link sent to your email address.
