What you will learn

Course outline

The course is offering the following components:

  • Gentle cardio exercise using body weight to improve agility, coordination, balance, flexibility and time to respond
  • Gentle resistance exercise using light dumbbells 0.5kg to 2kg and bands to build strength and increase level of fitness
  • Dance fitness to improve coordination, balance, agility, body and mind work, and music appreciation
  • Functional gentle exercise to help with every day activities, improve core muscles strength, balance, coordination, agility and time to respond to situations
  • Stretches to improve flexibility and range of motions

Course outcome

You will learn:

  • how to exercise safely at your fitness level
  • how to build core strength and strength in general
  • how to improve your balance, coordination, and stability
  • varieties of exercise to improve mind and body functions

What you need to know

Entry requirements

Ability to walk and stand alone. Open mind to learn and desire to engage in physical activities and exercises and a medical clearance from your physician if you have health conditions.

What you need to provide

  • Enclosed sport shoes
  • Comfortable exercise attire which stretches with your movements
  • A set of light dumbbells from 0.5kg to 2kg that you can use during the class for fitness.
  • A bottle of water
  • A small towel for sweat

Other information

  • Students sign a medical/ information form at the first class.
  • If you are new to exercise or have a pre-existing condition, please seek information from their GP before participating.
  • Avoid eating a heavy meal two hours before the class. Please do not drink for one hour prior to class or during the class. Please have plenty of water earlier on during the day.
  • Ladies: For comfort, avoid bras with underwire
  • Student's health needs are considered and alternative options are provided to meet individual health issues, level of strength, flexibility and fitness.

  • Select the non-accredited short course you are interested in.
  • Find a day and time that suits your schedule.

Note: Enrolment is open to anyone 18 years or older.

Step 2 - Enrol and Verify

  • Click ‘Enrol Now’ after selecting your course and schedule.
  • Enter your details on the enrolment page.
  • Verify your email through a secure link sent to your email address.
  • Complete the secure checkout and payment process.

Step 3 - Receive Your Enrolment Details

  • For Online Zoom classes, a Zoom link and password will be emailed the day before class. Use the same link and password for subsequent sessions if applicable.
