If you’re passionate about native flowers and wildflowers then you will thrive in this course!

Using seasonal native flowers, fresh from the flower markets you will learn to create stunning arrangements perfect for your home decor or as a thoughtful gift.

Throughout the course, you will immerse yourself in various techniques for arranging native flowers, exploring an array of containers to create stunning displays. From elegant glass vases to striking frontal arrangements in classic containers, you will learn the art of showcasing native blooms in a variety of styles.

Under the guidance of our experienced tutor, you will gain specific skills in arranging native flowers, understanding how to highlight their natural beauty and combine them in different settings.

By the end of the course, you will not only have learned various flower arrangement techniques but also have developed a newfound confidence in creating your own stunning native-themed floral displays.

This short course is suitable for all levels – from complete beginners to intermediate and experienced students who want to build on their current skills by experimenting with native flowers.

You will learn:

  • Seasonal floral creations
  • Floral philosophy, such as colour, texture and positioning
  • Tips and techniques such as how to cut the flowers and flower care
  • Where to buy florist supplies and flowers
  • Tips and ideas on how to present your Native flowers in your home
  • Natives that are in season

Course outcome

It is intended that by the end of the course you will know:

  • How to care for your natives
  • How to arrange your natives in different containers
  • What equipment to use for arranging natives
  • Element of placement and colour
  • How to combine creativity with floristry technical skills

What you need to know

Entry requirements

No experience required. This course is suitable for beginners and those wishing to build on their current flower arrangement skills.

What you need to provide

Students will need to bring:
  • $40 for subsequent lessons (this will be for all flowers and sundries)
  • Pen and notepad
  • Secateurs or florist scissors

Please note: The teacher has florist scissors ($6) and rose strippers ($4) if you want to purchase them.

You will be provided with:

  • Fresh flowers (details confirmed each week)

Step 1 - Choose Your Course

  • Select the non-accredited short course you are interested in.
  • Find a day and time that suits your schedule.

Note: Enrolment is open to anyone 18 years or older.

Step 2 - Enrol and Verify

  • Click ‘Enrol Now’ after selecting your course and schedule.
  • Enter your details on the enrolment page.
  • Verify your email through a secure link sent to your email address.
  • Complete the secure checkout and payment process.

Step 3 - Receive Your Enrolment Details

  • For Online Zoom classes, a Zoom link and password will be emailed the day before class. Use the same link and password for subsequent sessions if applicable.
