You’ve heard of the internet but aren’t really sure of what it can offer you, let alone how to get connected to it, which type of internet connection to choose, or how
to use it. This workshop explains it all. This workshop will walk you through the very basics of the internet: how it works, how to get online and how to surf the web. At the end, you should be able to sign up for an internet service and access and search the internet on your home computer.

  • How do I connect to it
  • Looking at different types of internet connections
  • Navigating around the web
  • Performing a web search
  • Summary of all topics covered

At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Access and search the internet on your home computer

What to Bring

  • Notepad and pen
  • An internet-connected laptop or desktop computer is supplied by the workshop organisers. You may need to share a computer with others in the workshop

Prerequisite: Desirable

  • No prior knowledge is assumed. This is an introductory course.

Delivery Mode

Workshop is delivered in a computer room – involving a combination of teacher demonstration and practical work.
